Hello everyone and welcome to the blog of the century! If you care to read this over the coming semester you will be enlightened with the secrets of life, the fumbles of my travels, and hopefully hear about a lot of ridiculous and awesome things I will intentionally or unintentionally do.
Just in case you start wondering why I don't add another post until probably Monday morning, here's why:
Fri 6PM 8 hour plane ride to Brussels, Belgium
Saturday 10 AM (their time) 8 hour plane ride to New Delhi, India
Sunday 10 AM (their time) 1.5 hour plane ride to Kathmandu, Nepal
Yea . . . I know . . . Yay picking the cheapest way to get half way around the world
Kathmandu, the capital and pretty much only big city of Nepal, is where i will reside for two months, in an orphanage called Ramro Shati (http://www.oceannepal.org). If you pay attention to the address at the top right corner of their website, you will see that the address of my residence has neither a number or a street. Therefore, do not try to send me mail, because it will most probably not get there. Be sure to take a look at the page called "children" as they are adorable and they are the ones i will be caring for while I am there. More updates on that little mothering journey as it ensues.

ReplyDeleteHey Ben! I am so sorry I didn't get to see you the night before I left. Carrie told me she was with you...but at least I get to talk to you this way. And oh how much I wish you had been there with me in her room last night to knock some sense into her. I feel as though I am the only bird of reason.. and when she reads this she will no doubt agree im too logical. Regardless, what you are embarking on sounds so cool! I wish I was there, but alas I must finish school (hopefully, though I have already taken on the slacker mentality on day 3 of the semester...). Did you get to see any of Delhi? or just the airport? a quite fabulous airport I might add, I had to sit there for hours because the smog was too thick that they couldn't take off. anyway, I hope your travels bring you to Nepal safely and I can't wait to hear about it!
ReplyDeleteDont go :( not that I am unsupportive but your abandonment and lack of presence in oceanside the next 3 months will be felt strongly.
ReplyDeleteits weird leaving comments when I will probably hear from you every other day but I will stalk you and love you here too my benjamin
only 2 nights left to soak up your fabulousness.
I will miss you muchooo
Love always,
Your Veggay
Hey Ben,
ReplyDeleteThink of Nepal as just one of your exciting adventures, and have a great "RIDE." Wish I were going with you; stay SAFE. Hope to be able to speak with you via SKYPE.
Love You,
Grandpa & Grandma
I think you say "ridiculous" in Nepali as BenMargoli. Or I would anyway. Befriend a sherpa for me.
ReplyDelete...and your off to a great start, arriving in Dehli, India unscathed and only 3 hours late, as we have just discovered! Enjoy the night as best you can, given the temporary role of your luggage as bed and pillow :-)...Love, DAD
ReplyDeleteBen--I'm so excited for you!!! I hope that you enjoyed your nap on your bags and that you weren't too lost waiting for your friend from the orphanage--though don't worry, I'm sure that if you just ask the locals they would know how to get you to the orphanage :)
ReplyDeleteMissing you and thinking about you and hoping that you are more amazed than homesick!! AIM sometime???
I can't wait to meet you there!!!! The time's going to fly by....!!
BENNYY!!! this sounds amazing, and I have to admit that I'm a little jealous. But I will certainly do something similar. Hope you don't get diarrhea lol. Just remember to get me something real expensive and nice. ALSO DONT FORGET TO FIND A SHERPA AND TAKE A PICTURE WITH YOUR THUMB UP. that is all i ask. be careful please! And once again I find myself wanting to follow in the footsteps of my big bro.
ReplyDeleteWith love from your brother,
Steven
